About Claus Festival

Bootah’s Claus Festival at the Pacific North Pole is the one and only Central Oregon winter Classic Festival celebrating farming and the Christmas holidays.
Bootah’s Pacific North Pole Claus Festival is a family adventure featuring artisan vendors, holiday theme foods, fun activities, miles of trails for timed and fun runs, hikes to the Pacific North Pole and Santa’s Workshop, entertainment and tiny tot Christmas fun, held over three weekends in Prineville, Oregon. Celebrating farming and seasonal joy, the event is hosted at SunLife Farm and Ranch amidst its apiary, orchard grass and lavender fields.
Who is Bootah? Why, the original Queen Bee of SunLife Farm’s very first beehive colony, of course! Claus Festival’s central gathering area is Bootahville, next to the Beeburbs, in a grove of Ponderosa pines nestled among the surrounding trails. During the holidays, these walking paths beckon visitors to Claus House up Little Wonderland Trail; or for those interested in taking the trek up Wonderland Trail, visit Santa’s Workshop and the Post Office at the Pacific North Pole.
Claus Festival brings people together to celebrate farming and the Christmas spirit. It’s an adventure for the whole family.

Why Claus Festival

- For community…Bootah’s Claus Festival is an annual opportunity for multiple county residents and agricultural stakeholders to celebrate the close of another farming year and the holiday spirit that bring everyone together regardless of location, unique tradition or chosen profession. Community celebration, spirit, unity and inclusiveness are what Bootah’s Claus Festival are all about.
- For sponsors…Sponsors are integral to the event with maximum exposure prior to, onsite, and after the event thanks to high tech augmented reality and phone friendly QR code scanning. Interactivity enables basic sponsor advertising on steroids with the ability to connect viewers and visitors with messaging, cool offers and other stuff of the imagination all year long.
- For runners…All ages can compete or run for fun in the Run for the Honey Series. Fourteen running events (5 competitively timed, 9 twelve-and-under fun runs) take place over 3 weekends over naturally carved out trails, in distances ranging 5 miles and under. Run for the Honey 5K, Country Miler 10 Furlongs, Three Dog Mush Team Relay 5K, Pacific North Polar 5K, or Breath Valley Classic 5 Miler await dedicated runners; twelve and under are cheered on by spectators during the dash that is the Running of the Bees and Bears. All races partake in Claus for Cause, with a portion of each race’s proceeds or full donation support going to a tri-county program designated for the run or the day.
- For families…Whether looking for a new holiday experience or a hometown, down-to-earth unique experience to add to your existing holiday traditions, there’s something at Claus Festival for every family. Fun activities for children, down time for adults, artisan shopping in a wonderland market outside atmosphere, references and nods to tradition and Christmases of the past, connecting with the farming community, enjoying festival food, exercise or just some good old fashioned cheer, Claus Festival shines.
- For non profit affiliates…Claus for Cause opens a new opportunity to share your value and participate in the proceeds. Exposure to local and visiting attendees in a unique and collaborative way enables organizations to reach supporters and funds with new awareness, and provides a fun outlet to engage your already engaged volunteers. Celebrate or gratefully acknowledge your supporters at year end, and meet new supporters for the year to come at Claus Festival.
- For artisan vendors…If you need to refuel, replenish, re-create and revive following the Summer festival circuit, or have a unique offering that fits the Farming and Holiday theme, Claus Festival provides a venue and unique wonderland atmosphere for holiday shoppers and new annual patrons to find and come to you. A Ponderosa Pine grove offers a distinctive and magical holiday feel as an alternative to summer booths and tents. Plan now for your exclusivity factor, product or advertising that can only be found at Claus Festival.
- For fun…Games, Song, Food, Costumes, Gifting and Purchases, the Pacific North Pole, Santa, Holiday characters and Life Size animals? You Bet! Whether you want to See the Fun (and purchase a ticket), or Be the Fun (on stage or as participating performers), Claus Festival is guaranteed to make you smile. Plan today to join the fun!
We Can’t Wait to See You There!
Quotes from Jeffery Fox

Our festival also supports select non-profit organizations from the tri-county area that focus on food, shelter, health and youth programs. The support comes from key running event proceeds, tip token boot drops, donations for parking and the Bears and Bees daily runs for children.

Our event is held outdoors on SunLife Farm’s 160-acre property. Plenty of room to safely roam in accordance with today’s socially conscious settings.

SunLife Farm’s Bootahville and surrounding Beeburbs in the apiary are the perfect fit for Claus Festival. Bees play an intricate role in our local farming environments. Amongst our artisan vendors, beekeepers from Central Oregon will present their honey and other products.

Claus Festival is a celebration – end of year is the perfect time to celebrate the high desert central Oregon farming community and many holiday traditions.”

Claus Festival features a unique surprise for attendees and our sponsors. Visitors can rely on their mobile phones to interact at the event or connect in the future with event sponsors, artisan vendors and area farms. Augmented reality through Zappar provides year-round access and Claus Festival fun.

Keeping with the spirit of the holidays, giving is a theme we will promote to support our local charities that work tirelessly all year to provide community support to those in need.
